"Conditional" Rating Convinces Agricultural Equipment Dealer to Seek Help
Oftentimes, a compelling event brings a new partner to J. J. Keller. For a North Dakota Agricultural Equipment Dealership, it was when the DOT walked through the door at the end of 2008. The Conditional Rating and fines they received as a result of an audit convinced the Dealership’s Safety Director that the question wasn’t "should we use J. J. Keller", but rather, "how soon can J. J. Keller be here".
Prior to the audit, the Safety Director had been working with a Keller Sales rep, discussing different web-based solutions. The Safety Director felt that Driver Management Online™ would be a great fit; however, their level of knowledge surrounding the regulations was a big obstacle. After the audit, a J. J. Keller Consultant was brought in immediately for a day of onsite regulatory training. The Keller Account Executive in the Midwest joined the consultant on the call. The agenda was two-fold; an explanation of the regulations and a focus on policies and management processes for getting into compliance in which the Keller Account Executive provided a detailed demonstration and discussions on Temporary Trip Permit Services.
After the visit, the skies opened up and the rain came down. For weeks, North Dakota was on National news as we watched them fill sand bags to keep back the river. The flood brought up an opportunity to discuss the importance of having documents scanned and in a secure environment for the future. By the end of March, businesses were reopening, the bloated river fell below the sandbags and the Equipment Dealership became a Business Services customer with a contract for Temporary Trip Permits and a contract for Driver Management Online™ and Vehicle Management Online™.
